She was unfamiliar with physical currency and after explaining, Elizabeth had told her to keep it.
When she mentioned it to her team, Rodney rummaged in his pockets for “a real Canadian penny”. After that, she was presented with more currency than she could imagine - a Japanese yen coin from Dr. Kunasagi, an old British ha’penny from Dr. Grodin, a Czech ten-koruna from Dr. Zelenka - until she had a coin from every country represented in the Atlantis Expedition.
Teyla made them into a necklace, and smiled at the harmonious tinkling.
