McGee poked it again. “Sprained, I think. I hope.”
“So, walking back is out?”
“Very. The car’s totaled?” McGee asked.
“And I can’t even get down the ravine to it,” said Tony. “So, we’ve got no car, no gear, no cell service, and no one who knows where we are, even if the local PD let NCIS know we didn’t make it to them.”
“It’s not all bad,” said McGee.
“How?”
“At least we have each other.”
Tony laughed and dropped to sit next to him, shoulders bumping. “Thanks, Probie.”
