Thank you! This episode was beautifully sad, but a wonderful sendoff.

I can imagine is was very sad. I'm glad you felt it was a wonderful send-off.

I haven't seen it, I did consider looking to see if I could d/l it or even find it on YouTube, but then I discovered Gibbs didn't come back for it, which shocked & stunned me. I know MH left and all, but given how long they'd been close friends, I found it hard to believe Gibbs wouldn't come back for Ducky's funeral.

Overall, it was a good episode. I try to be understanding with the behind-the-scenes realities that confine the writing choices - I agree that Gibbs (the character) would absolutely come back, but the actors don't always make that possible. But I think they did the best they could at mentioning the characters that have left and using clips from the whole history of the show. It was co-written by the actor who plays Jimmy, so it focused a lot on his relationship with Ducky, which was very sweet.

From what I read, it appears it was all down to cost. Getting MW back was far cheaper than getting MH back and apparently they didn't want to bring Gibbs back just for a couple of minutes on air. Which I felt was even worse, TBH.

I saw it was co-written by BD.

I'm glad it was overall a good episode and you felt they did a good job of mentioning the characters that have left (which of course was actually most of them - all bar two) and that clips were shown.
