“How are you really doing?” asked Tony, sliding a glass of water across the kitchen table.
Jimmy took it, considering.
The McGee house was quiet - Victoria was sleeping over with Tali and the twins, so Jimmy had stayed after the other guests from the funeral reception had left.
“Or I could get you something stronger?” Tony offered.
Jimmy shook his head. “No, thanks. I… It’s still sinking in. That Dr. Mallard isn’t just traveling, he’s really gone.”
“Yeah, it’s hard to believe.” Tony raised his glass, with a small smile. “To Ducky. Gone but never forgotten.”
“Never forgotten,” Jimmy agreed.
