Paternal
Quietly, Gibbs went through the house, turning off lights and checking that doors were locked.
Normally, he didn’t bother. There was nothing of value in his house anymore, no one that made it a home. He spent most nights in the basement working on his boat, with no need for the upstairs lights, and never locked the door.
But now, his new partner was fast asleep in the spare room. DiNozzo was an adult, but something about him brought back all the paternal instincts Gibbs had thought had died with Kelly.
Maybe, it would be good for both of them.
