Inappropriate Snacks
“Oh,” said McGee, “I forgot about the doughnuts.”
The rest of the team stared at the pastry box on Parker’s desk.
“They sounded so delicious when I bought them this morning,” he said, sadly.
“But after that crime scene…” Knight shuddered.
“Somebody should check on Jimmy,” added Torres. “He should be done the autopsy by-”
The elevator pinged, announcing their ME, who held out a folder. “I’ve got the autopsy results and - ooh, doughnuts. May I?”
Parker nodded, and he took one, catching the jelly that oozed out as he bit into it. “Raspberry, my favorite.”
“They’re all yours.”
