“I didn’t know you still had this,” Steve smiled. “I’m glad I can buy you better presents now.”
Teddy shook her head, hugging the small slightly-bedraggled teddy bear tightly.
“It was our first Christmas together and I had no money,” he protested. “And no imagination.”
She shook her head again, then tapped the bear, her temple, and her wedding ring.
“That’s when you knew you wanted to marry me?” her husband asked, incredulous.
Teddy nodded eagerly, tapping the bear again, then resting her hand over Steve’s heart.
“Because you knew how much I love you.”
She grinned and kissed him.
