Greetings in the Mail...

I got my package today! Presents for the kids, tortillas and all. Of course, my parents sent too much, but that'll leave Tomoko-san with the means to make enchiladas again. Better too much than too little, I always say! There was also a sweet letter from my Dad in there. It was such a nice gesture, and really made me smile.

Only problem with the enchiladas is... Tomoko-san doesn't have a stove. I always assumed burners meant stove, but it does not. The microwave can be used as an oven though, so that may be okay. It may be a stir-fry the enchilada insides, and then just warm the sauce and cheese over it. Still need to ascertain whether they have a baking dish or not. I really, REALLY hope they do. If not, I shall have to make these things in a skillet, which, while harder, is not impossible. Every day is a new adventure!

Well, Tomoko's mother left today. It was so funny when she went home last night. She was pretty much, "Well, I've been here a while, and I need to take care of Grandma (her mother)." Tomoko-san interjects, "And you have a husband." Was so great. Meant to get back before she left, but failed at this. Was sad, but was glad to get to know her.

Played the Taiko game after class today. Yasashi Sensei is wonderful. We had a good time learning today, and had some great off-the-wall moments. We went from odd hospital skits to people saying that their hobbies were different kinds of porn. It was great. I actually felt like I was in a room full of young adults, rather than a group of people being treated like they were five and forced to like it. Thus is why I enjoy Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Am using my last sick day to skip and go to Ueno and Shinjuku. Am determined to have a good time, and be sure to look at tons of stuff.

We may meet in Toshimaen Saturday for mischief and another Toys R Us run. Fun times indeed.

I miss home...
