Thank you, everyone, for your sympathies. It's been a surreal kind of week, not doing my habitual stuff with the cats like having Thea hurry over to the door when I come home from work, or walk through the house making spontaneous parodies with the cats' names -- I get to the living room, look at where Thea used to be sitting, and stop in mid-lyric. Kar'ell brought home her ashes on Monday, saying, "Thea is home again." That brought new tears. It's a very nice polished wooden box, though, and tightly sealed -- I had visions of it getting knocked over and spilling. But I made the decision to put it inside the hutch, safe behind glass doors. It has a slot in the front for a photo and we're still looking for just the right one, although I put one in temporarily.
The whole family is of mixed feelings on getting another cat right away. Surprisingly, Mom doesn't, and Dad does (although he'd like to have Milo, the cat we fostered a few months ago, but he was adopted soon after our fostering period ended). Logic tells me to wait until at least spring, but I couldn't help purposely going to Petco on Sunday to see if the cat rescue would be holding adoptions that day. As it turned out, they weren't there, so I'm taking that as a sign we should wait.
I found plenty of cat photos to scan, but my computer has decided to not recognize the scanner despite changing around connections and re-installing the software. Same old story with machines here. :| I might as well hook up my Mac Cube, which I know should work with the scanner, burn the photos to CD, then borrow Kar'ell's laptop to upload them. If I manage to get the Big Room finished this year, maybe I'll set up an assembly line of computers based on which functions each of them can actually perform. :P
Re: Clopin files: I'll get back to everyone on that. Keep everything nearby, though!
