Rattlelatch kitbash! Version 1.0
Just figured I'd keep this separate from the drabble post. I took advantage of the freakishly unnatural fine Spring weather we're having to open the windows and take out the paints to work on the next step of my Rattlelatch kitbash. Now he's got a nice coat of paint. I still need to figure out what to use for the lenses (have an idea, but not sure of it yet), and then he gets a nice coat of varnish..Which he really needs. :P Unfortunately, using acrylics on him didn't work as well as with Channel -- the paint comes off liek whoa when I transformed him, so he's staying in robot mode. I'm also still having trouble with the camera so bear with me on the occasional blurry/badly lit pic.
'Latch has an inexplicable tilt to the left. I didn't like the way the yellow showed through on the headlights so I painted over it with white/pearl. I also painted his grills silver.
...I need to do something more with those headlights. And...his seats were stuck forward there. :P
I was debating removing the spoiler but left it on...may yet change my mind.
Robot mode!
Closer! Now you can see 'Latch's head better, where the actual modifications are. I sanded down Bumblebee's "horns" and squared them of a little, and added some epoxy putty to change the sides of his head. This head mold is perfect for Rattlelatch. =D I also sanded down his chin and the three raised spots on the roof. Painted his optics because they're too dark, and used the white/pearl on his face. I haven't decided where to put the rub sign so it's currently on the jet ski, which I'm also planning to modify.
The two kitbashes together! (Channel is very particular about lighting. She looked rather grumpy in all the other photos I took, so this one ended up the best of the bunch) I'm starting to have my doubts about that kitbash I was going to use Alt Sunstreaker for so I don't know..maybe I'll pick someone else that wouldn't be as involved as that one, to do next. ^_^ (And now that I think of it..I could potentially use Classics Mirage for Powerlane. I finally saw him at Target today, but kitbashing was farthest from my mind. Yet now that I've said that...I might have to go back for him tomorrow. XD )
