Make the scene. Call her a selfish fucking bitch in front of everyone. Send me your address and I will send you the money for the creamation which I hope will not be necessary. Tell your mom you have actual friends who understand the love of a person for their beloved furry companion.
I agree with chochiyo_sama - make a scene at the vet's office if you need to. Your mother has no say in this. Why is she so against you having Sam's ashes if it comes to that?
I will be sending healing energy and good thoughts to you and Sam so none of that will be necessary, hopefully. **HUGS**
Oh, girl, I'm so sorry! I wish I could send money your way to help, but as it is I have $65 left to make it to next year. Is it the expense they're objecting to or what? If so I say take chochiyo_sama upon her awesome offer. I really hope everything turns out okay. *hughughshugs*
Also I mailed your gifts to you but then realized I hadn't put the letter in the box! D'oh! So the letter is taped to the bottom of the box. I'm sorry about that; I've been a real airhead lately.
A lot of it is the expense - when I had Charlie cremated it was something like 300 bucks, back in 2003 - but I also think my folks have some serious controlling issues. (My SIL and I talked about this today and she gave me some interesting insight into a couple of things.)
In any case, Sam is going to be okay, for now anyway. I'm having a health profile done on him just to be sure, and I'll know more about that as of sometime tomorrow when the vet calls, but for now, thankfully, he just has the same crap that Teddy and Taffy had, the conjunctivitis, and that's treatable enough.
Heh, don't worry about the packaging - as long as it all makes it here safe and sound, that's what counts. :) I know what you mean about fudging on details - I can't even keep track of what day it is lately, and I've been doing the whole setting-stuff-down-in-one-place-one-minute and then forgetting what I just did with it the next thing. XD (And I'm mailing you a rather large envelope myself, so watch your snail mails. :) )
