Also, I HATE that LJ has now apparently forced its shitty new posting scheme on me and I can no longer opt out of it. GODDAMMIT LJ LEAVE THINGS ALONE!! There's a reason why the phrase "if it ain't broke don't fix it" exists! >:(
It makes me sick that a once-great service is now fast going down the toilet. And DW isn't even close to becoming its successor. (We won't even touch the other "social" sites, all of which I hate and with the exception of Twitter, which I only have to follow a few people, refuse to use.)
Anyway, we got some very nice snow. Hopefully it will stick around for a while. I have a vested interest in seeing more and more snow: the longer winter hangs around, the longer the cold temperatures will stay (despite the occasional oddball fluctuations of this season). The longer the cold stays, the greater the wait it takes to complete the construction of the Shoebox, and the longer that takes, it means my folks can't yet move into it. Which means that a miracle may yet occur that allows me to avoid that dump and move to someplace way better (or at least stay put in the place we're at now). Hey, I can dream, can't I?
Mom has been having some really bad knee pain lately, bad enough that she's now hobbling around on crutches and can barely move. From the sounds of it she may have pinched a nerve or something in there, because she says the pain radiates not just through the knee itself but all the way down/up her leg, hence the lack of moving ability. So tomorrow she's going to a doctor.
See, universe, this is a good reason why you should give me lots and lots and lots of money: I can help my folks pay for things like this. Hell, I can even get my stupid tooth taken care of and not have to wait an extra 2 weeks wondering and worrying if I'm going to have to have another extraction.
(Note to self: with my fabulous impending riches, one of the things I'm doing is buying what's left of LJ and converting it back to its previous glory. AND THEN LEAVING IT THE FUCK ALONE.)
