“Teddy! We’re going to be late!” Kate called, knocking on the bathroom door with nails painted green and silver.
“Almost done,” came the muffled reply followed by scuffling and the sound of fabric being tossed about. “Just adding the finishing touches…”
“If we don’t get there now, there’s no way we’ll get good seats,” Eli added, adjusting his red and gold striped tie, scowl ever present on his face. “There’s no way I’m sitting up in the front row like we did for Thor.”
“The fourth row,” Jonas corrected, looking down at himself awkwardly, lifting his own blue and bronze tie in examination. “And is it customary for people to dress up for the premiere?”
“Only if you are a die-hard Potter geek,” Cassie smiled, twirling her braid laced with yellow and black ribbon. “Which, admittedly most of us are.”
“Any real Potter fan would have been at the theater already,” Eli grumbled, earning a small smack on the shoulder from Kate.
“Eli, relax,” Billy laughed propping himself on the counter, feet kicking back and forth in anticipation. “We’ve got another six hours till it plays.”
“And as of two hours ago, the lines were already out the door,” snapped Tommy speeding to a halt in the Kaplan’s kitchen and brushing his own Slytherin attire off. He stopped when he caught sight of Billy still squirming around on the counter top and arched a brow. “What the hell are you wearing?”
Billy frowned. “A costume, same as you. Only my house is better.”
A sharp cough made Billy wince and rub his neck.
“Sorry, Kate…”
Tommy snorted and waved a hand dismissively. “Any house that endorses freaky glasses that don’t fit your face is automatically lame.”
“They’re Harry’s glasses,” Billy pouted.
“Again. Lame.”
“Billy,” Kate sighed, cutting in and cocking her hip. “Lose the glasses. Looks better that way.”
Billy huffed, but did as he was advised, folding the plastic spectacles and tossing them aside. ”Better?”
“Much, better.”
All eyes fell to the bathroom where Teddy was leaning against the frame dressed head to toe in Gryfindore colors. Eli muttered a finally under his breath while Kate nodded in approval.
“Wow, Teddy!” Cassie clapped. “Your costume looks amazing!”
“Why thank you, Miss Lang,” Teddy bowed. When he sat up he stared at Billy and grinned. “Hey.”
“Hey, yourself,” Billy smirked, motioning him over to the counter.
Teddy’s grin grew impossibly wider as he walked over, stopping just between Billy’s thighs, hands resting on his hips. “And you do look way better without the glasses.”
“They were authentic,” Billy protested, arms wrapping around his boyfriend’s neck lazily.
“I’m not really a glasses guy, myself,” Teddy teased, leaning up and kissing Billy’s nose, prompting a giggle from one twin and a groan from the other.
“Oh my God- Can we just go already?!” Tommy hissed heading for the door, hand obscuring the view of Billy and Teddy nuzzling in the kitchen. “You can talk about your creepy cosplay fetishes later. Preferably when I’m not around.”
“No, by all means, do tell us more,” Kate grinned, taking Eli by the arm and guiding them out. “Just on the way to the movies.”
“I second that,” Cassie, giggled, taking Jonas by the hand and leading him to follow Kate and Eli.
Billy rolled his eyes, leaning his forehead against Teddy’s. “Guess we should get going.”
“Yeah,” Teddy nodded, helping Billy down and lacing their fingers together. “Did you tell your mom where we’re going?”
“She and Dad are taking the terrors tonight in another theater,” Billy answered as they exited the apartment. He paused outside with a wink. “And they didn’t tickets until the 12:30 show…”
“Hmm, that sucks,” Teddy chuckled with a knowing smile of his own. “For them at least.”
“Yep.”
“Hello you two!” Tommy growled, speeding up to them and glaring. “Movie now. Make-out later.”
“Can you just leave leave us alone for like ten minutes?” Billy muttered in embarrassment. “Go bother someone else for a change.”
Instead of shrugging or arguing back, Tommy tilted his head in consideration. He cast a quick glace down the street where Kate and Eli were strolling hand in hand. A slow, mischievous grin lit his face.
Billy realized his mistake too late and shook his head. “Tommy, don’t-“
“I solemnly swear I am up to no good,” the speedster wagged his brows.
“You can’t be serious,” Teddy blinked, catching on.
With a laugh, Tommy zipped past Billy and Teddy and right on past Kate whose skirt flew up in the gust.
“Tommy!” Eli yelled after him.
“Thomas Shepard, I am so using you for target practice for the rest of your life!” Kate shouted.
Billy groaned and brought a hand up to cover his face. Teddy rubbed his back soothingly. “At least you two aren’t actually related.”
Tommy suddenly reappeared beside them, looking all too pleased with himself and sighing in smug satisfaction.
“Mischief managed.”
