Attempt at an entry...

May 27, 2006 23:45

So I'm bored, and am going to live up to my promise at posting a decent entry.  No promises though since my last entry got prematurely deleted when the browser jumped back a window.  It sucked almost as much as premature ejaculation (I dunno, don't ask).

Summer...whoooo!  You know, aside from the lack of a job or steady income.  I'm currently waiting to hear back from a youth center that I applied/interviewed at.  CSI?  Yeah, I kinda said "screw it" this summer and decided to look for a job where I'd get paid a little better for the work that was expected of me, despite the generous offer of $9.00/hr my uncle offered me (Editor's note: last summer I was paid $8.00/hr for the same job).  One goal for the summer is to learn to play the pedal steel guitar.  It looks like a keyboard with strings and you use fingerpicks and a slide to play.  Why the sudden bizarre choice in instrument?  Well you see, I saw Blues Traveler and Robert Randolph at a free concert up at Hartwick (Oneonta) and Robert Randolph blew my friggin' mind on the pedal guitar.  We'll see...

Alright, not much else to report on.  Planning on seeing Taking Back Sunday and Head Automatica at Six Flags sometime in June.  I highly recommend two cds to everyone out there regardless of music taste.  1. Angels and Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper because its a very unique sound that is reminiscent of U2, and honestly, who doesn't like U2?  2. Head Automatica - Popaganda!!! simply because its an all around good cd that pays tributes to people like Frank Zappa and Elvis Costello and takes the "wussiness" out of pop.

To those of you that I would care to see this summer or who would like to see me, make yourselves known.  I know there are at least a few of you out there.

And now on to the reviews that I'm sure you all care sooo much about...

Reviews
Taking Back Sunday - Louder Now: Finally a TBS cd that I actually like.
Angels and Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper: A modern U2, I highly recommend.
Head Automatica - Popaganda!!!: Excellent cd that I personally think is better than their first.
Zebrahead - Broadcast to the World: Different ZH sound, but a good all-around cd.  A lot more rapping.
Scary Movie 4: Ummmm, semi-funny but definitely a rental.
Scary Movie 2: No I didn't watch these at the same time, and yes, its stupid.
Silent Hill: Not so much scary as impressive with how close to the game it was.
Mission Impossible 3: Tom Cruise wasn't annoying and it wasn't a terrible movie.
Rumor Has It: Ummm, why was this movie made?  Stupid.
AFI - Decemberunderground: A give-and-take cd.  Not bad and I like their new 80's-ish sound.
Kicking and Screaming: I'm already not a big Will Ferrel fan and this movie didn't help.
True Romance: If you like Tarantino, check this out as it was the first screenplay he ever wrote and its very "Tarantino-esque".
The Constant Gardener: Slow, semi-boring but not doubtful that Africa gets fucked over like that everyday.
Billy Idol - VH1 Storytellers: I love Billy Idol, and this is a good cd.
All-American Rejects - Move Along: Yes, I listened to this cd and yes, I do in fact like it.
NOFX - Wolves In Wolves' Clothing: Typical NOFX, nothing new.  Just 16 fast and catchy songs.
Underoath - Define the Great Line: Wow, a lot harder and deeper voice.  Not sure if I like it or not though.
LOST Season 2: I love lost and this season was just as much a skull-fuck as the first.  Keep 'em coming.
Hitch: Stupid.  Don't waste your life watching this movie.
Fun With Dick and Jane: Eh, it was alright.  Not a great movie though.
History of Violence: A very good movie, although somewhat short.
Super Mario Bros.: Who produced this movie and why?!?!?  Horrible.

There's others but I can't remember them and I doubt you care anyway.
