New School = New Life...

So I'm here at the University of Colorado at Boulder, up in the Rockies.  Still a little jet-lagged, but I'm surviving.  I tell you, I always underestimated how thin air is up at high altitudes, but the climb up the mountains to my classes just about kills me every time.  I miss all my old friends at Mansfield and home, but this was my decision to continue my Political Science major with a Pre-Law minor 2000 miles away, and this school felt like the right place for me to be; more opportunities in the long-run.  I'm just glad I had a chance to say goodbye to the people that it mattered the most before I left on Friday.  My roommate, James (although everyone calls him "Gizzer"), has made it a nice transition and has introduced me to some really cool people, so its been a little easier than the initial transition to college last year.  We plan on going snowboarding this weekend, even though I've never done it before.  Jealous bitchez?  I have to say, I love my classes.  The professors here are a bit more credible in their achievements, so they know their stuff and I feel like my education will prepare me a lot more in the long run.

I do know one area where the transition hasn't been easy; Mal.  I miss her so much already, and I only said goodbye to her on Friday.  I can already tell its going to feel like forever before I get to see her again.  But, I guess if you've done the long-distance thing once and survived, you can do it again.  At least this time I know what to expect, and there's more of a desire to make it work on both sides of the relationship.  Plus I think she's going to come visit me over spring break in March since I won't be coming home until the summer due to monetary reasons.  Sucks, I know.

All in all, I'm excited to see how my life in Colorado turns out with only a year and a half left of school to due here in Colorado.  To all my friends, I miss you guys already, and you're all free to come visit me to snowboard or just chill with me if you ever want to.  I know I wouldn't mind.

Reviews:
Hostel: Disgusting.  I was disgusted with myself morally for paying to see this
To Have and To Hold: An excellent French suspense movie.  Thoroughly enjoyed it
Foo Fighters - In Your Honor: Haven't heard the acoustic cd yet, but the rock stuff is their best so far
Against Me! - Searching For a Former Clarity: Really good acoustic punk rock.  Best stuff
Kanye West - Late Registration: I finally grew into Kanye, and I love his stuff
Paperclips: Bizarre documentary on the effects of the Holocaust.  Didn't watch all of it for a reason: boredom
