Hello! I am an American currently trying to au pair for a family in Pisa. Because you can't get a visa as an au pair I need to go around the system a little (the Italian way, isn't it?) and get a study visa for a language school. Has anyone gone this route? I had a study visa for Italy before, but I was studying at a university on study abroad. This time I would like to stay for a year.
Any tips you have on acquiring a visa in Italy, please let me know. Emailing the consulate has not been helpful. My potential host mother is doing all she can to figure things out in Italy but I'd like to be able make sure this can happen.
Thanks!
