So today was my first ballet class! I didn't go back to the place that cancelled - their schedule changed again and it was all confusing, so I googled for more places, and I found somewhere that only involves one bus and is two dollars cheaper per class. It was such a good decision. This little studio - Belltown Ballet and Conditioning - is small and cosy and pretty as anything. The teacher is pretty much the ultimate African-American lady, incredibly nice and supportive, and not afraid to criticize and be hands-on and helpful and eeee! I love it. I was surprisingly not terrible, and I need to do stretches and exercises myself at home but the classes - on Mondays and Wednesdays, just like my boy's leadership classes (leadership classes? I didn't even know that was a subject...) - are so much fun! We had to do brutal stretches, but my music helped a lot, and even when I sometimes messed up the footwork, I could recover quickly enough by keeping to the rhythm of the piano. I was paired up with a much better ballerina to shadow her, and she was so sweet and nice. I had fun! I can't wait until Monday. My friend
flight_wo_wings is coming on Wednesdays too, and we had loads of fun today <3
My bebe is being screwed over by his work, which makes me a very angry Fi. I'm supposed to go and pick up college books for him tomorrow - The Prince and Julius Caesar, which gives a very good idea of what those leadership classes are about - but I know he's very stressed about balancing school and work. His workplace is managed by pretty much monkeys, and 'helpful' is too much to ask from them. It just infuriates me, but I really hope he can balance it out. His class sounds amazing. They were supposed to do 'communication' today and he ended up talking to a Japanese man who wanted to be a whiskeymaker. Because his father was alcoholic (just-- wtf?). Bebe wants to be a writer, and I am very proud that this is the answer he gave. Whiskeymaker...
So, good things that happened today:
• Ballet class was a success!
• I made cheese and bacon omelets for Goose and Matt, who were both very hungry.
• I got the warmest, sweetest hug from Bebe before he went to class.
• I found an adorable, quaint little diner on 2nd and Pike and discovered that strawberry/chocolate milkshakes taste delicious!
• My legs are not cramping.
And a handful of good memories:
• "My wife plays the violin, I think I'll be okay"
• That New Year's kiss.
• Completing Cosmo Episode 1 and Resident Evil 5.
• "It's on my radar"
• Being given my Rinzler ID disk.
I love you all ♥
