On Wednesday, the NY State Senate took up the issue of gay marriage and threw it unceremoniously under the wheels of a bus made from short-sighted fear and prejudice.

I was feeling a little down, for no good reason (though I can probably point to a few mediocre reasons), and dozing plaintively on the metro. That, of course, left me a wee bit groggy when I got home.
