Today has, more or less, been a blur.
Most of that was caused by attempting to do something quick last night for a client's site. That "something quick" turned into two hours or so of suck. Starting, of course, at about 1 a.m. (Because, see, it was only going to be something quick and it would take the site down for a bit while the engine updated...)
At about 3:30 a.m. everything was back in place and clients will be none-the-wiser. Worst part is, it turned out the whole problem that I went through all that trouble to fix was due to a call in an .htaccess file that conflicted with a settings file in the content management system. A settings file that should be easy to just change. Except, for some reason, I can neither change, delete or edit that file. No matter what they system says the permissions are. Going to have to eventually get a tech support request out on that.
Was going to do that today, but, between not being able to see clearly due to lack of sleep and the amount of work that had to be done, it kind of got lost in the shuffle.
The real "fun" came around 4:15-ish in the afternoon when I jumped in to help with a site that's become more than a little bit of a nightmare. Rush order to extract, crop and re-size about 300 images. Six graphs per state. Would have been plain and simple with a nice Photoshop action... except all of the files were 2-page PDFs and a quarter of them weren't on the same grid as, well, anything.
I left the office at nearly 7 p.m.
Got home just in time for Chuck, time shifted and watched Heroes without commercials. Will get to My Own Worst Enemy at some point before next Monday. Still have to write about all of those. I'm way behind on my other blogs. And we won't even talk about NaNoWriMo.
November is one of those months that never quite works out right...
