99.5% Moved
There's still some dishes and things, but they'll get moved after the big cleaning frenzy that will go on at the old place Tuesday. The actual lease is up on Wednesday. Anyone want to place bets if there's going to be anyone in the apartment office either of those days? They weren't there last year when I had to renew my lease...
The new place is still filled with boxes, but those boxes are starting to get moved to where their contents will eventually end up. I still have to figure out how I'm arranging the bookshelves. Once that is done, 3/4 of the boxes will be empty and broken down.
Then I'll have a whole lot of open space. I'm really not used to that. Going from living at my parents' place to a dorm room, back to my parents' place and then into an apartment just big enough for my stuff, all I've ever had was "almost bursting" sized living spaces. This is going to take some getting used to.
Called Comcast today. I should have TV and Internet by Tuesday. I almost had to wait until next Saturday, but the nice customer service rep I talked to found me an earlier appointment. Unfortunately, they don't offer their Digital Voice service in the new apartment. So it looks like I'll be going with Verizon. It's either that or switch to another cell carrier. *sigh* Decisions, decisions. I may not be someone you want to try to sell anything to (because the standard tricks just don't work on me), but as long as you treat me reasonably OK, I'm a damn loyal customer...
Tomorrow is the first commute from the new place to the office. Hopefully, it will be painless and uneventful. As will the commute home.
My parents are rolling in to town at about 7 p.m. Monday night.
