About That Icelandic Volcano

From the linguistics blog Language Log comes this unexpected delight: A sea chanty about Eyjafjallajökull that is also an aid to pronunciation. The poster, Aspen Swartz, writes:

I really enjoyed your post on that Icelandic volcano. (and being able to read Language Log, in general). I tried to learn to say it, which put it in my head, where it attached itself to a melody (John Kanaka, a sea chanty). So I wrote some verses to it, and sang it at our monthly sea-chanty where the group said I needed to put it up on youtube. The result is a crowd-consensus anglicization in the chorus - I hope it might be entertaining.

Now that I know there are people out there who belong to monthly sea chanty groups, I am feeling like my own hobbies are really a little bland. Anyway, here's the song. I defy you to forget the pronunciation ever again. In fact, you may not get rid of the earworm for some time.
