(no subject)
It was back up to Brooklyn this past weekend for me. I had been volunteered to keep my cousin company while her fiance and my sister attended Rock The Bells on Randall's Island. Friday night we drove up just ahead of the storm. You could see the dark skies and lightening in the distance. It never quite reached us and never did hit Brooklyn.
Saturday, my cousin and I had a lazy & productive day, if there is such a thing. While they were at the show, we stayed in the a/c most of the day. We watched a ton of movies (a bootleg copy of Georgia Rule somebody gave me, Little Children, and Hustle & Flow to name a few) and went through bridal magazines looking for invitation ideas.
Then we got dressed and went to my new favorite Bay Ridge restaurant, My Thai. I had the Mango Shrimp and they serve it in a hollowed out mango shell. So delicious! We also had the calamari appetizer and split the fried banana for dessert that comes with coconut ice cream. Thank goodness it is a decent walk back to my sister's place or I might have popped! We picked up some ice cream for the concert kids and waited up to hear about their day.
Sunday we all slept in late and then walked up to the bagel shop for breakfast sandwiches. It had started to rain at this point, so we went home and my sister designed my cousin's wedding invitations using our input. They are going to be awesome in my opinion. When the time comes I'll be sure to share.
Now I believe I am done with New York until September when I go up for the NYC Race for the Cure. Gotta save up those pennies for a while!!
