Here I am in my cozy little bedroom in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I'm still in the process of unpacking, although the room is already looking pretty good. The books and clothes and shoes are all put away. I have some pictures out and sitting around. And, as you can see, I got my wireless internet to work.
My roommate Amy is the only one in the house so far, but she is really cool. I like her a lot. We hit it off when I got here. She took me to the famous Zingerman's deli last night, which was every bit as amazing as everyone says. Tonight we went over to the Washtenaw Dairy for ice cream, which was also amazing. I had some mocha almond fudge ice cream.
My parents are still in town. They're over at their hotel, resting and relaxing. We had a fun day in Michigan. We went to a cute place called The Broken Egg (which I think is a great name) for breakfast. Then we drove around a bit to see the sites. We went into Steve and Barry's, which is a huge store full of nothing but Michigan gear. I got a navy sweatshirt that says "Michigan Law" on it and a coffee mug with the school seal on it. My parents got shirts that say "Michigan Mom" and "Michigan Dad" on them. They are too cute, I tell you. Then we headed back to the house and they helped my unpack a few more things. We made the obligatory moving-in Target run for new pillows, over-the-door hanger thingys and a couple of school supplies. Then we went to a great place for lunch called Ashley's. It is a pub with over 70 beers on tap. It was amazing. I had a Strongbow, which always makes me happy. My parents and I then proceeded to walk down to the law school. I wanted them to see how beautiful the quad is. It is much nicer this time than the last time I was here because the ivy that covers the walls is all leafy and green. We peeked into the reading room, which made my mom's jaw drop because it's so gorgeous. She had to take some pictures of everything, including me under an archway outside. At that point we were all pretty exhausted, so I delivered them back to their hotel.
I don't have to do anything law school related tomorrow. Tuesday I have to go register and I plan on buying my books as well. That is all I have for know. Just wanted everyone to know I'm here and safe and getting settled.
