Japan #010: Some impressions (April 2012)

Jul 19, 2012 23:40

I've been living in Kobe/Japan for almost 4 months now. The first semester is over, finally, and I made it through all of the exams without any problems! Now I have some time to show what I've seen here so far. (Or at least some selected photos!)

I'll start with April and put all the other photos into later postings, so it won't be TOO much!
(Because it IS pretty much, indeed!)

April 2012:

My host mum is an awesome cook! She's cooking great meals like this every single evening!

The exchange students were from all over the world, but US Americans and Koreans would make the majority, I guess.

I LOVE Cherry Blossoms. I was so happy to see them from the very beginning until their bloom ended about 3 weeks later! So beautiful!

Kwansei Gakuin is a christian private University with the main campus in Nishinomiya.

Byodo-in is one the oldest still standing wooden structure in Japan and in the world. Ever since ~1000AD it has never burned down! (It only was damaged a little bit by earthquakes.)

Mampuku-ji is a big Temple area which can't be shown in one picture. Even now there are Buddhist Monks acrually living there, meditating and doing their Zen Buddhism stuff.

Cherry Blowwom viewing "Hanami" at the Ashiya river. There was also a festival next to the river, but this event is mainly about picnicing.

The most beautiful view of Japan in spring!

Just a 15 Minutes walk from my home there is this beautiful Shinto Shrine!

The most delicious and beautiful cake I've ever eaten!!

Oh my god. I was in Tokyo Disneyland! I've never been to any Disneyland before!!!

Tokyo DisneySea is another amusement park right next to Disneyland!

Don't you ever come to japan and leave without trying Okonomiyaki! They're AWESOME!

Nabe: Japanese stew!

To be continued...
