It's weird but I have so much fondness for fic authors that make deliberately irreverent remarks about the SciFi channel movies. I'm not sure if other countries besides the US are subjected to the mostly execrable movies that SciFi produces, but it would be a shame if us Americans were the only ones to be subjected to them. The next movie is entitled "Ogre" and makes me want to go into paroxysms of internalized hilarity every time I see the commercial and that badly rendered ogre. Why do they do these things? This is the channel that won Special Effects awards for Battlestar Galactica.
I have a particular love of the SciFi mini-series that are also well done: Taken? Tin Man? Battlestar Galactica? Yes, even they have floundered with Earthsea and others, but for the most part, SciFi shows and mini-series make me want to turn to the channel.
Also, if someone can explain to me why they show Extreme Championship Wrestling on a scifi channel, please feel free to enlighten me. I promise I'll listen to reason. If someone can think of one.
Yet despite all of this, SciFi and CNN are the only two channels who's call numbers I've memorized, so I'm not criticizing too bad. Just laughing at the eccentricities of a beloved channel.
Your fandom thought of the day: "Jack had a respectable few feet of paper clips linked to each other. He was thinking of looking up the Guinness Book of World Records to see what it would take to beat the current record. He was a general, after all, so he could order as many goddamned paper clips as he wanted." (from
