FACTS
Like all the others affected by the Surrogate Project, there are a few things that make this version of Giovanni unique. These are various facts about him that didn't fit anywhere else.
- When word of the Surrogate Project first reached Kanto, Giovanni immediately took a stand against it. Team Rocket certainly isn't the most moral or organizations, but using trainers to make money was unthinkable.
- Because he stood against Geechisu, Giovanni has had his memories wiped time and time again. There are very few memories he retains.
- Things he does remember: Creating Team Rocket, his Executives (and most of his other Rockets, he's still good with names and faces), his early Pokemon (mostly Nidoking), most of his childhood and young adult life, Red (he doesn't remember the other Surrogates he's met), the Viridian Gym... this is constantly being updated.
- Among the things he cannot remember: His son (Xiomar; Dante is not his actual son), confronting Geechisu, travelling outside the Kanto and Johto regions, obtaining most of his Pokemon, many of the orders he's given Team Rocket (including his own participation in most of these), meeting the other "Teams" (he has met with all of the bosses - Maxie, Archie, Cyrus, and Geechisu)... this is also being updated.
- When Giovanni is forced to confront something he has forgotten, he always gets a massive migrane, which usually leaves him incapable of doing much of anything. In these instances, Archer usually takes command of Team Rocket.
- He fully trusts his Executives and has no idea that Archer is selling him out to Geechisu.
- Giovanni knows nothing about Dante, Xiomar's clone and one of his Surrogates. He doesn't remember, but origianlly Xiomar was forced into the Surrogate Project to ensure Giovanni's cooperation. When that didn't work Geechisu went to Plan B, wiping Giovanni's memories. At the time Caitlin wasn't very experienced and didn't do a very good job. This means that Giovanni is capable of remember what was wiped during these periods, but it is very difficult and painful for him to do so. She got better at it as time went on, and all the mind wipes have permanently damaged Giovanni's long-term memory.
- To those not in the know, they assume Giovanni has some issues with memory loss. He believes this as well.
- The Executives are mostly aware of what is going on, and usually they're the ones who have to do damage control when Giovanni accidentally stumbles on something he should remember but doesn't. Archer tends to be in charge of this due to his proximity to the boss. His orders from Geechisu always come first.
- Team Rocket is Giovanni's number one priority. He occasionally remembers giving the same orders, but it's more of a sense of deja vu than actually remembering. Thus, Team Rocket has played the same role time and time again without his knowing it.
- His affiliation with Team Rocket is not widely known. He tends to keep his distance from the Elite Four and other Gym Leaders.
