It's easier to realize which of your friends are closer to you when you've been away from everyone for a while... cause then when you all get back together, the ones you are excited to see the most are the ones that you'll probably remain friends with..
Also, it's crazy how people change. People change all the time.. just we don't realize it when we're always around them. But when we go away for a little bit, and then see the people again.. we can see how much they've really changed. It would be nice if people always changed for the better.
Anyway, it was nice seeing old friends again. Everyone has different college experiences.. stories to tell and stuff.. But we're all a bit separated now because of our different college experiences. The high school friends will never experience the stuff I'll do in college.. and the college friends will never know what I did in high school. It's almost like two separate lives. But they're merged together.. into memories that are shared with different groups of people. And my high school friends are special because they've shared with me those years of my life from middle school through high school.. nothing can take that away.
But as time passes, it seems like we all change and move apart. Yes, I know I'm looking a bit far into the future.. but I'm just thinking.. will we be able to keep in touch as college moves on? Will we all keep up the gatherings when we come back for breaks? Or will we all drift apart as time passes.. It took so long to catch up on just a few months of life.. how long will it take for a couple of years? ... How long would it take to rekindle a friendship that has been lost for.. over 9 years...? Or could it never be brought back? Would the people have changed so much that they'd have to start over.. would the people even have the same memories of what they had together? Gah.. I'm losing hope in that one. But maybe I can still preserve these ones. If we genuinely care for eachother, it will be simple to remain friends. =)
