Today I spent like a typical day for Tarzan, swinging from tree to tree. Mais c'est vrai! I did something called "l'accrobranche" (or un parcours d'aventure), where you attach yourself to different lines running between trees and you either slide down the line, or you climb on different courses varying in difficulty. When you slide down a line, you use "une tyrolienne" (or you 'fait de la tyrolienne' I think). I went with Roxane and her friend Florence, and then a group of five or six other people she had met once or twice. One of them was a 45-50 year old man named Yves. There are actually people named Yves in France! Hah! And I thought it was a myth.
Anyway, it was genial, vraiment super, quoi. My arms are gonna be so sore tomorrow from this one 'parcours' that was particularly difficult......and then, like I said, there were two times when you hooked yourself up to a rope and just jumped off the platform probably 25-30 meters in the air and soared through the air til you hit a "file'" of ropes and grabbed on for dear life! The tyroliennes are so much fun too, except one time I forgot to lift my legs at the end of a line while approaching the end wooden platform, and my right leg has two pretty big "bleus" a cause de cela!
Ah!!!
Hey Dad! I just realized why Roxane said "Now your pride is blue!" after you took that tumble years ago at the gas station in the rain! She really just meant your dignity's been bruised!
I miss everybody! Though I am really starting to get used to life here and making acquaintances into friends...yesterday I went with a 24 yr girl from Argentina named Valeria to a dance class. It was "Hip Hop Cool Groove" at a studio called Marais near the Hotel de Ville metro station. It was a lot of fun...and it turns out that the song we learned a combination to I have on my iTunes....dance party, my room, be there!
