Random car appears!

Yesterday S and A took N, me and A2 bowling. A had tons of "sport coupons" that were going to expire by the end of the year, and he wanted to put them to use before that. Hence, bowling!

This was only my second time bowling and I still mostly sucked but at least I had fun :P I even managed several strikes, though mostly through coincidence than any skill on my part. N proved himself to be quite the bowler and completely swept the floor with the rest of us. By the time our two hours were up, no one was cheering for his strikes anymore ;)

Afterwards S was supposed to just give us a ride home but we invited her up for tea and before we knew it, it was midnight and she ended up spending the night on our sofa. The next morning the three of us visited Tuomaan Markkinat ("St. Thomas' Fair") in Helsinki. It was freezing and we practically ran through the little esplanade lined with booths. I would've liked to spend more time checking out every booth but it was just - so - cold.

S had to leave and take their dog to agility, but N and I studiously scoured store after store in our hunt for Christmas present for several hours. Just to give you an example of the great afternoon we had: in one store there were ninety people before us in the queue. Both of us were completely exhausted by the time we got home but at least we’d managed to procure almost all gifts.

In the evening L stopped by to watch American Ninja IV with us. It was, if possible, even more horrible than the previous three :P In one scene, for example, there was a fight in a camp inhabited by ex-prisoners. It was broken up by a random car appearing from out of nowhere, which somebody then shot, causing the car to roll over and never be mentioned again. Just... what. All the American Ninja films so far have been absolute crap but this one took the cake.

Needing something decent to balance out the hideous, L and I dived into my Buffy collections and watched all our favourite Spike episodes on DVD. I've seen all the seasons several times but the last time was a few years ago and I was horrified by how tenuous my grip on reality canon has become. L kept asking all these questions about when or why something happened and I couldn't answer because I didn't know if what I remembered had actually happened or if I'd read it in a fic somewhere! I need to watch all seasons again and make notes or something, this is embarrassing.
