Partee

Though S and A have been living in their new house for a few months, it wasn't until today that they managed to organise the housewarming party (we've had a lot of these in the last two years).

It was a "joint event", as we were also celebrating S' 23rd birthday. N and me gave her Alias (a word guessing game played in plairs with players trying to identify specific words from their partner's explanations. This has to be done without saying the word in question and the objective is to explain as many words as possible in the alloted time). N and me brought the house down again, and were forced to separate ;)

My turn with S wasn't quite as successful, as I kept insisting that Alfred Einstein was "the greatest scientist ever" and tried to explain to her that Chile was "the capital of Peru" (to which S very promptly replied Lima), and other such brainfarts. S is very terrible at names so we missed out on people such as Tom Cruise but she recognised Wayne Gretzky immediately from the explanation "greatest hockey player ever".

Alias is great fun and hours just flew by with us playing. L had found from a flee market a copy of Ninja Burger, another tabletop game from Steve Jackson (the creator of Munchkin), which was also a blast. Poor L had a horrible flu but participated anyway.

After six hours of gaming and stuffing our faces (mudcake for the win), we called it a night and got A2 to give us a ride home. He'd totally forgotten that N and me had moved (even though he was at our housewarming party) and almost drove us to N's old place.

rl, friends
