Judgement time
I finally caved in last week, and made my very own WoW account.
She's a pretty little blond thing, a blood elf paladin called Lyyra (lyre in English). I've been going back and forth between pretty much all the available races and classes for the past few weeks, and then finally decided on paladin because it should be a decent class to solo with (I don't play well with others;) and hopefully won't be too hard to play. And since I want to be Horde and not Alliance, well, my racial options were limited to blood elf.
Currently I'm at level ten, and have received my first talent point. I'm going to have to start thinking about how to spend them quite soon. I'm not interested in becoming a healing bot for groups or turning into a tank that has to have someone with her to do the damage/healing, so I'll have to look up a talent build that helps me survive on my own.
It's weird playing a melee class after levelling N's hunter from 60 to 70. Hunter is a ranged dps class that takes very little or almost no damage herself, and kills are done swiftly and with minimal armour damage. With a paladin it seems to be about outlasting the mob in close combat and that does horrible things to armour. I'm constantly down to something like 55 per cent because I don't remember to check and repair.
Finding play time has also been a challenge. At the moment I have only my trusty iMac G5 which, thought an excellent computer in every other aspect, can in no way be considered a computer to play games on. So far I've been playing on N's PC but that's unfair to him in the long run as he has his own character to play. Especially now that he's farming honour on battle grounds and a new bow from a chain quest.
My next salary comes in two weeks, and there's no way I'm not heading straight to buy a PC. I've promised N to station the new computer to his apartment, as he fears that otherwise he wouldn't see me for the rest of the summer. Which is not a completely unjustified notion ;)
