Well that didn't last long. Our new HR admin got the boot today.

It's kind of awkward because she's a friend of the developer that introduced her, and I feel really bad, but she just wasn't up for the job. My manager asked me if I wanted to be there when she was given the news, but I chickened out. I've never been to a dismissal meeting, and I didn't want my first one to be with someone in my team.

I'm also kind of glad that the company is serious about a probationary period. It's long, six months, and it's not a formality. Everyone gets assessed thoroughly, and it doesn't stop after you've passed probation. If your performance lags, you can be let go at any time.

Now to figure out where to get a new HR admin...
