Back in business

Whew, we had a busy Easter break. L flew over from Finland for the full four days, and we had a blast.

We did a few touristy things like visit the Kew gardens but one of the best things about having L over is that she's not really interested in going to the Buckingham Palace or Madame Tussauds.

Instead, we did stuff like spending 2 hours combing a cemetery in East Finchley to find the grave of a 19th century biologist (Thomas Henry Huxley, for those interested), armed only with a close-up photo of the gravestone. What did you do on Good Friday?

We also visited Selfridges to buy her some sun-dried emperor moth caterpillars but then did some very mundane stuff, too, like introduce her to the wonders of My Old Dutch's pancakes, visit Forbidden Planet in West End and take her to find some gems at the second-hand book market on South Bank.

Rest of the time we just made her watch awesome and not so awesome movies. I'll convert her to the Fast and Furious franchise yet.
