Today's my last full day at Oxford. Unfortunately, starting last night I've come down with a nasty cold, complete with soar throat, runny nose, and itchy eyes! Why today?! I think it is because all of the people at St. John's are working furiously all over campus to get ready for the fall semester. People are mowing everywhere and even redoing the concrete in some places. They are stirring up all kinds of dust and grass clippings.
I had my last final this morning in the form of about 5 questions that pretended to be one. The result was a long complex essay. I hope I did ok. Whatever, I'm just glad that I don't have to think about it anymore. After my exam I did a little bit of shopping. I'm hesitant to buy anything else because I'm really pushing my bags to their limit. I did buy a couple of candy bars and some chocolate biscuits to bring home though.
I am really going to miss Oxford, especially now that the tourism is lightening a little. The streets are a lot nicer to wander around on. Tonight is the last night I will spend in my little Oxford room that has become my home away from home. We're venturing into London tomorrow afternoon. The thought of carrying all that stuff to the train station and then getting it on the Tube and then to the hotel makes me a little nauscious, but I suppose it will work itself out in the end.
This will probably be my last post until I'm safely home again.
Until I'm back in the USA...
