gifts of all sorts
so the boss that i've complained of for some time now really suprised me today. she works from home on fridays, which means this is the last day that I will see her for 8 weeks. I was out of my office talking about who is going to take over my work load when i leave. When i came back to my desk, there was a gift bag. Inside was a really cute little travel journal and a bon voyage card from her. i went to thank her and she told me that she really hopes that i have a good time while i am gone. wow. i'm glad that she seems to like me again.
other than that, work has been kind of wild. i'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. been attending a lot of meetings and listening to a lot of stressed co-workers. i had to teach a couple of people how to use some software today using a projector. kind of interesting... i feel like such a grown up.
perhaps the best going away gift i've received was from Jim the QA guy (for Centenary folk - he's Dr. Brayford's husband). he asked me when my last day at work was. i told him tomorrow. his response: "oh shit." i like feeling important.
i will stop gushing now.
