Day 24 → Whatever tickles your fancy
My new iPhone is still tickling my fancy. I'm still getting used to my fancy new toy and I know there are millions of apps I have yet to discover, but here is a list of my top ten favorite Apps so far:
1. The Weather Channel, (FREE)
The App is so much faster than the website, especially since Bing and anything besides Internet Explorer don't communicate well. The app is neat with tabs for current weather, radar, 36 hour forecasts and meteorologist videos.
2. Words With Friends, (FREE with ads or $2.99 without ads - totally worth it).
Scrabble with friends that is always ongoing. Highly addictive and so much fun.
3. Facebook, (FREE)
And you just thought Facebook was already addictive. Now I get immediate notifications when someone posts or comments, plus I can easily add photos, videos and read my news feed, all without using the office network. :)
4. Dog Toy, (FREE)
Shake your phone and it makes dog squeakie toy noises. Great for periodically making my dogs crazy.
5. Google (FREE)
Immediate access to Gmail, Picasa, Google Talk, Google Reader, Google Maps... Amazing.
6. BeeJive IM ($9.99)
Yes it's $10, but I can chat on IM or Google Chat with notifications. This eliminates the need for text messaging many times, thus saving me a lot of money in the long run. It's designed well and easy to use.
7. Audiobooks (FREE)
Download and listen to audio books that are out of copyright for free. Lots of great classics. Perfect for road trips.
8. Urbanspoon (FREE)
There is something very cool about shaking your phone and getting ideas for local places to eat.
9.Amazon.com (FREE)
Shopping and buying in a matter of moments. Amazing and frightening all at the same time.
10. iBday (FREE)
Taps into my my facebook and lets me know who has a birthday each day. Also allows me to add everyone else's birthday so I won't forget.
I still can't get over some of the features it comes with. I love the voice recognition that allows me to call Mark just by literally telling it to. I love that I can take videos and photos and email them to anyone immediately. I know I'm geeking out, but I really do love this amazing little gadget. (And Mark loves his too).
