I am so thankful my parents read to me constantly as a child. I have so many that I love and that I begged mom and dad to read over and over. So much so that I had them memorized. Mom would get tired and try to skip a page, and I would put up a big fuss because I always knew. :)
Some things never change. I still can't bare the thought of skipping a page, even if it's boring.
My very favorite though was Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown.
The story is sweet, about a mother bunny, following her baby through every adventure as he tries to run away from her. And the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. The way they make a rabbit look like a sailboat, or a cloud. I used to just stare and stare at them.
