I'm really bad about venturing outside the fantasy genre because when I get down time, I love escapism. But I am so glad I did with this one. This is one of those books that once you read it, you never forget it. Amazing perspective on the life of a geisha from childhood, to their prime and beyond. Great descriptions of customs and shocking ceremonies.
