Well, I DID get a job, but it's actually at the Bruno's that Tony works at instead of at Fresh Market. I'm going to be working in the produce department (which is right next to the meat department, where Tony works), and Wednesday is my first day on the job.
I'll be working until 9:00, which is much better than getting home at 11:00 - 12:00 like I have been at Fire Mountain. I don't know how many days a week, though, but hopefully it won't be too bad.
I gave my manager, John, an award that said "Greatest Manager in the Universe", and a 1904 silver dollar. He thought it was awesome. I gave him the silver dollar because we would always get "gold" dubloons for doing commendable deeds, which could be traded in for free meals. And I got 1904 because it was 100 years before 2004, the year I first started working with Fire Mountain.
Speaking of that, it's amazing that the first day I am going to work at Bruno's will mark the anniversary of the first day I worked at Fire Mountain. I began over there on August 31st, 2004, and Wednesday, the first day I work at Bruno's, is Aug. 31st!
On another note, we've got the dreaded Hurricane Katrina heading our way. I'm waiting to see what South Alabama's website says, but I'm almost positive we'll be off from school tomorrow. I will need to call Fire Mountain and make sure they'll be closed tomorrow, too, because tomorrow is my actual last day of work, and if they're going to be closed, then I won't be working for them anymore.
Not much else has been going on aside from these couple of things.
