Been forever

Yes, 'tis I. I actually remembered my password, and after much hiccuping and chaos with new(er) machines, I am back! Life has handed me more twists and turns than a pretzel factory (I say as I draw up images of that Good Eats episode...), but I've weathered them all with Ed at my side, which is something I seem to be grateful for pretty much every day.

Just finished up the World Steam Expo, which was awesome, in spite of all the hiccups and chaos. (I refuse to dwell on them, unless it's to make things run smoother next year. Definitely not dwelling on it here.) Managed to get inspired all over again by the sheer creativity, and certain speakers really knocked my socks off with their knowledge, and how personable they were, even with all the behind-the-scenes chaos. Hopefully, we will all see them again next year!

Ed and I have been coping with lots of medical issues, but they're going a LOT smoother than last year's. I spent most of December recuperating from a necessary (but thankfully) minor surgery that needs follow-up around every three months for the next year, but things are good on my front, in terms of that.

Ed ended up hurting himself on the job back in January, lost his job due to the inability to be properly recouped by the time his FMLA ran out, and had surgery on his left shoulder about three weeks ago to correct the problems. Dr. Alan Biddinger, if anyone needs a good Orthopedic Surgeon, is an absolute blessing, and I would recommend him to anyone. We went and saw him for a three-week followup yesterday, and he was astounded at how much improvement Ed was showing, which is AWESOME! For those of you who knew about this before, thanks for the healing energy, the prayers, etc. They seem to be helping, in astounding ways. (Doc says he hasn't seen a recovery this fast in the fifteen years he's been doing shoulder surgeries!)

Next we have the month of Nan's birthday, Motor City Pride, and something going on at the end of the month that I am failing to remember at this point in my day. (Still mentally sleepy from the five-day experience at WSE.....)

Thanks for listening!
