*sigh* So much lovely deliciousness in life. I've missed LJ I must admit. Don't worry - in a few weeks I will begin visiting again at least now and then. So many beautiful love stories in the world...just watched the Alfred Hitchcock/Laurence Olivier/Joan Fontaine Rebecca last night and it was wonderful - you can read my(as yet unrevised and unpolished) review of it
here at my blog, but - oh it was lovely. Of course, it does rather take the suspense out of it if you happen to have read the book beforehand, but still worth it(Laurence Olivier is rather dreamy as the brooding Maximilian de Winter, for one thing) and with an Academy Award for Cinemotography it's also a very prettiful film.
I'm also still in kind of a glow over certain deliciousness in Eternal Sunshine and Stardust.
Several notes: 1) Mathemitician is back at university, where I miss him...but really, are all boys so baffling?
2) I've decided that I've read far too much 19th C lit so I'm on a brief course of modern popular lit -e.g. Time Traveller's Wife, the five people you meet in heaven, and The Mermaid Chair, which I just begun. I'll let you know how it goes...
