That's it.  Tomorrow I am either buying the book North and South from Amazon or demanding that my friend send it IMMEDIATELY. Which decision I reached after watching several music videos of the movie, which in case any of you have magically missed my occasional rants about not being able to find the book in any library in miles and wanting to read ( Read more... )

I preordered it ASAP and had then several moth to wait before it came out. Boy, is it FABULOUS!!!! :D
You can shorten the wait as I did, btw, with reading the book in the meantime.
Here's the link to the free e-text here and on Project Gutenberg.
Although the screenplay often differs from the book, I liked both very much. :)

That is a cool video. If you haven't seen North & South yet, I would completely recommend it. It is amazing! Richard Armitage just smoulders. He has the WOW factor. I rented it from NetFlix and then bought it. :D

You must read and see "North & South"! It's beyond excellent, and Richard Armitage more than lives up to the high standards set by Darcy. I understand you wanting to read the book first - I prefer that as well. (i.e. I did that with "Wives & Daughters") N&S came on TV one night, though, and since I'd heard all about it on the internet I couldn't help but tune in. After that I had to have it on DVD and read the book. (Lo and behold, my public library didn't have it but my school library did.) I bought the book later, too.

Definitely worth buying both the book and the minseries!!!

That video looks good - I love that song, too - but I'll have to watch it on my brother's computer, as it doesn't work very well on mine.

My school library, unfortunatley, isn't a very good one, so they don't have it either even though I've checked several times. GAh. The fates have conspired against me. Ah well. One way or another I'll get it and read and then watch it soon. I'm soo looking forward to it. After watching all these clips/music videos from it on Youtube, I'm crazy-wild to watch it. :D Yes, the video is fun-hopefully you can get it to work. They have lots more like it on youtube.

*swoon* i fear the other actors who will be the future darcys and phantoms. i doubt there were will any more greats but who knows ;)

Don't worry-I have not the smallest particle of intention of going to my grave without having seen North and South. None. At all. :D And yes, the thought of other greats is just a tad frightening-how COULD our poor feminine hearts handle it? But I'm sure we could figure out a way...
