Best Day Ever
Today is the biannual library used book sale, where you get a grocery bag of books for four dollars, which is just the best day of my life, basically. I can't list all the awesome things I loaded into my bag, but I have got to show you this (huge, slow-loading) scan of the amazing treasure I found buried in a compilation of "best sci-fi short stories" from 1977.
It is about a bungled Fingal doppel, it does have Appolonia descending like an angel to give him commandments, it does have that dorky little kid in the beginning mixing up the tags. It does not have Humphrey Bogart, a phlegmatic old company president, or ill-will toward anteaters. Also, Fingal is a lioness, not a baboon.
You guys, I can't tell you my uninhibited joy when I saw that title. I would have paid four dollars for that story alone. This library sale has (as ever) made me exceptionally happy.
Also, if you have not heard the latest Harry Potter news...boy oh boy, are you in for a surprise.
