" Did he really?", Gabriella said very interestingly.
" Yea, it was kind of cute. He looked so nervous, it was so cute.", Jamie said with a hint of excitement in her voice.
Gabriella replied, " Hon, anything he does is cute to you."
" IS NOT!" , she shot back.
" Ladies is there anything that you would like to share with the class?", Mrs. Bryer asked. Mrs. Bryer was a short peppy sort of person and everyone said she was the coolest science teacher ever.
" No.", the girls said flatly.
" Well I want to hear what you said and I’m sure the rest of the class wants to know too." The class who was listening to the whole conversation hooted and hollered in agreement.
The two girls giggled and turned red with embarrassment. They walked up to the front of the classroom, stood there then spoke.
" Well, I got asked out yesterday..sort of.", Jamie said shyly.
" BY WHO?!", the class bellowed.
" Pete.", she replied. The class erupted in wolf whistles and cat calls. Some of the girls whispered amongst themselves jealously.
The two girls walked back to their seats. On the way Jamie got many pats on the back and heard a lot of
" Tell me how it was."
"Oh great now everyone knows.", complained Jamie
" Will you shut up?, either way people were going to find out wether you told them or not.", Gabriella stated.
" Yea I guess your right."
" Of course I’m right, I’m always right.", Gabriella said proudly. Jamie gave a short laugh.
They finished their experiment with no other interruptions. Well except when this really klutzy kid named Anthony spilled his chemicals all over himself and Mrs. Bryer had to take him to the office. At the end of class the girls caught up with Sadie.
" Hey Gabby!", Sadie bellowed from across the hall. Gabriella and Jamie walked across the hall and then said, " Hey Sadie, what’s up?"
" Not much. Hey Jamie You-know- who left this for you." Sadie handed a tiny piece of paper to her. She read it out loud and it said :
Dear Jamie,
I’m so glad that you decided to go with me. Meet me outside by the parking lot after school. Can’t wait to see you.

She folded the note and put it in her pocket. Walked to her next class which happened to be
math.

Pete walked into math not expecting to see anything different. Instead he saw that everyone was standing around the perimeter of the class room. They were getting new seats. So he stood there like everyone else. Trying to strike up minor conversation with anybody. He ended up not talking to anyone, he just sat there staring of into space. He seemed to be doing that a lot lately.
Next thing he knew Mr. Boone who happened to be wearing the shirt that Sadie said made him look like a Christmas tree was putting an overhead of the new seating chart on the board. He scanned over it to see where he sat. He sat in the third row in the 4th seat. He worked his way thought the crowd of moving teens. He found his seat and sat down. To his unwelcome surprise he was sitting next to Henry. Henry was a crazy, demented kid. He was heavy set, black hair and a buzz cut. He would plow down the hall way mumbling words of murder and suicide to anyone who would get in the way. Most of the girls were either teriffied,or disgusted of him.
" This going to be one hell of a marking period.", Pete thought to himself.
Nothing very interesting happened in the next hour. It was after school when Pete had the most fun. He met Jamie outside by the parking lot like he said he would do. When she got there she looked a little confused.
" Hi. I have a question." she said.
" Ok shoot.", he replied. She looked at him and smiled, then started laughing. He thought that maybe he had a piece of broccoli in his teeth so he ran his tongue over his teeth and found nothing. He had no idea why she was laughing.
" Why is there a black ring around your eye?"
" What?", Pete ran a finger around his eye. What he found was the dust that Mrs. Bryer puts around the edges of the telescopes. He had that stuff on his eye for 3 hours and nobody told him. What was the world coming to?
The couple walked down the street engaging in small talk while they were walking until they came upon a small building that smelled very much like heaven. He opened the door for her and she gave him a small " Thanks." and a big smile. He had a feeling that this was going to be a good date.
