This week seems to be physical education week. I've been teaching the kids somersaults, handstands, round-offs etc. E's taking Morgan to play raquetball every evening. She's been whining about being fat (she's chubby, yes) and been hurt a couple of times because of cruel comments by other kids. She asked dad to start taking her to the gym, they've walked the track, tried tennis, done the machines and now raquetball. Her favorite so far.
The boys are learning wrestling moves (on each other) from dad. Awfully cute. Right now it's boxing with balloons.

Most of this is because it's raining and raining and raining. Yay! So we can't play steadily outside and there's a lot of energy going around.
Yesterday evening, while I held Sam, the kids puddle stomped. So much fun.

Apparently we have hardwood floors. E just forgot to mention it after all those times under the house. So I bought all this stuff to tile the kids bathroom and we'd gotten to the 'must grout it stage' and he lays down the hardwood floor bomb. All that money wasted. *sigh* So we stripped the tile, then the plywood from the bathroom floor, then, what I think was bakalite tile with tar paper backing, to the yellow pine floor underneath. It's from the forties, so needs oiling bad, needs to be sanded badly, but only one plank had any dry rot. That on the edges of the wood. So the kids are learning about all sorts of stuff house related. The whole HOUSE is hardwood. So now we are making plans to get the ugly linoleum in the kitchen up, and the carpet in the hallways...

So what's your weather like? We are thanking the gods for the rain. Our grass is dying it's been raining so little here. Usually every afternoon there'd normally be a rainstorm. This year? It'd rained 3 spitty times until this current storm. I'm freaked about hurricane season. All this hot dry air?? whoah
