Nanami,
What do you mean, "it's kind of funny" to get mail from me?! You think I don't write mail?! I write more mail than anyone in Budehuc!! But sorry for interrupting your holiday. I figured that if I were the one away on holiday, I'd still want to know what was going on back home, but I'm not the one on holiday, so I guess I should have thought of that first. Tough luck for you though, because I'm still going to send you an update, and there's nothing you can do about it! Except maybe give the nasel bird something to eat since she's been a handful and keeps pecking at me.
It must be kind of weird to see people you know who are a lot older than you remember. But it must be even stranger for them to see you because you haven't aged a bit. Sometimes it's a little creepy to think that Eugene could be my great, great grandfather, but I'd rather not think about that kind of stuff.
I do SO know who he is; Taki talked about him and all the others all the time. Taki has squirrels, right? I haven't talked to her in a long time, but I bet she would know what to do. It sounds like you solved your own mystery though, so you should let the villagers know who's the guilty party before they start adhering to mob psychology and gang up on some unsuspecting (and hungry) townsperson who has nothing to do with the issue. Bringing a squirrel back to Budehuc doesn't seem like a major offense except there are a few animals and people here who might try to eat it, but I bet by the time you get this you'll have solved everything.
The nostril [realizes the slip up and scratches it out ////] nasel bird is pretty much self-trained, I think. I'm just borrowing it. You can't send messages out via butterflies unless you catch yourself a really docile Chon-Chon or Choe-Choe, but they don't have those where you are, do they?
You won't believe this! Remember that guy you mentioned, the Mythological Detective Richie?! Well, I guess he's actually real because he showed up at Budehuc without warning the other day! Don't tell him I said this, but I kind of feel bad. I didn't give him the warmest of welcomes, but it was kind of hard to because everyone kept jabbing fun at me because, well, you know. He's a detective secretive optician private eye, and he's older than me. So OF COURSE it'd be wonderful for me because he can spread his aged and knowing wisdom around.
While I don't mind getting advice every now and then, I don't like people expecting me to follow along behind someone just because they're older. I don't even know this guy; I'm not about to ditch everything I started just to listen to him. The funny thing is that he didn't seem to have any of the expectations the others did and he was pretty easy going about the whole thing, so I do feel kind of bad for being so immature? accusational? confrontational? unfriendly. He probably has a really bad first impression of me now.
But you don't need to listen to me complain. The only other things that have happened you might want to know about is that Jess is going on vacation, Hervey's organizing some social event, Maxine is hanging out with some weird magic sand crab, and Fred's back. I'll let them know they should write you letters too, if you want.
Enjoy your holiday,
:D
