I had my last OB Appt on Friday. She just poked my belly and measured it and listening to the heartbeat and of course I was weighed and the nurse checked my bp. Everything looks normal, but she said that it looks like the baby is going to be big. I'm not that happy about that. I mean when I was born I was 7 lbs 12 oz and my hubby was 8 lbs something, so neither of us were that big. But I keep thinking of my brother he weighed 10 lbs 1 oz when he was born and his homecoming outfit was for 3-6 months, and both my parents were only around 7 lbs when they were born. So I'm just hoping my baby isn't that big. Then she told me to come back in 4 weeks. I thought that once you were @ 32 weeks you were supposed to go every 2 weeks, but oh well. I haven't made the appt yet, but I'll be about 35 weeks pregnant at my next appt. And I was under the impression that @ 36 weeks you start going every week, but my OB seems to be different so I have no idea what will happen.
This weekend DH and I went to PA to visit our families. We got up there at a good time on Friday, but we didn't do much except play Phase 10 and watch the Eagles game. DH left during the game to play hockey with his cousin. On Saturday we went to the PA Renaissance Faire with DH's brother and cousin. It was a nice day, but it was really hot and all the hills were killing me. My feet and back were hurting so bad by the end of the day. On Sunday I had my baby shower and DH had a little party of his own. But his was just an excuse to get drunk and play PS2. I got a lot of stuff at my shower, a lot more than I thought I would. I got so much clothes, but almost all of them are 0-3 months so we're thinking of exchanging some of them for bigger sizes. I got a lot of bibs, washcloths, blankets, teethers, rattles, & other little things. We also got a Winnie the Pooh travel system, a crib and mattress and bedding set, a bouncer, a swing, a take-along swing, a 4 stage baby bath w/ shower, a big and small diaper bag, we even got a box of 144 diapers, and a box of 480 wipes. DH was happy b/ his sister got us the Elmo Loves You doll, I think he's gonna wear it out before the baby even gets here. He heard everything that the doll says and now he's worried about when the baby is older, b/ Elmo says "Elmo loves you more." He thinks that our son is going to think that Elmo loves him the best. That was an ok day. I tried to go see my dad that day since it was his b-day, but that didn't happen b/ I ended up having to drive a bunch of people around. Later that night I had to listen to my hubby tell me everything his mom told him about the shower. Apparently as soon as she could get out of there, she ran home to complain to him. She was bitching about some stuff that my mom was saying. But she took everything that my mom said the wrong way, I knew what she was talking about though, so I explained that to my hubby. Then I got told that she was upset b/ I didn't read any of the cards. I was more interested in the gifts than the cards, & everyone else seemed to be too, they were all yelling at me to hurry up b/ they were hungry. I mean I read them to myself real quick and said who it was from. Oh and apparently I didn't show enough emotion, I mean was my MIL expecting me to cry or something. I thanked everybody for everything, & I looked at everything carefully and held it up for everyone to see & for pics to be taken. But come when you're going through a bag w/ like 50 little things in it and some of the things you aren't even sure what it is, how emotional are you going to be? Plus she got it into DH's head that his side bought things from the registry and my side bought whatever they thought we should have. Which was only 1 thing, & I said something about it, but it was only 1 thing and it was a gift, so it's not that big of a deal. Monday was Labor Day and it was also my b-day, I'm 20 now. YAY Me! I didn't have a party or cake or anything. The only things I got was $25 from my Grandparents, a dolphin fleece from my mom, and a Pentagram w/ a celtic wreath around it from DH. We didn't do much, we went to a BBQ at DH's uncle's house, we went to see my dad and spend some time with him, my half-sister, and my dad's gf and her 3 kids. Around 7pm we loaded up our car and DH's friend's truck (who also has family in PA and is stationed in VA) w/ everything we were taking down with us. The only stuff we left in PA were the crib and everything that goes with that (like the bedding, etc) and clothes & other things that we don't need until the baby is at least 6 months old. We got home around midnight & that was the end of our lovely weekend.
