This has been a month of contrasts. First I became a godmother to L&S's little baby K. She's delightful and oh so cute, even if she showed her full lung capacity and cried when I held her in the church.
I started a new training and health regime, going every Thursday for lectures in how to become a healthy person and trying on a new activity once a week. The course includes free classes and gym training. But I got stuck with a really bad cold for almost three weeks, so it hasn’t been much of that. Well, I've tried power walking, power yoga, core stretch and Qui Gong so far - and even if I haven’t reached my goals yet, it's far more than I've done during a year or two. But stuck with cough and fever the diet went to hell too. And since my excessive coughing finally seems willing to leave I'm starting with water aerobics next week, so I'm waxing my legs tomorrow. For the first time ever. I think it's a good idea, since I'm too lazy to shave my legs when I don't have to. At least I won't be the hairy godmother no more.
Then my beloved aunt died, quite unexpected. She was only 18 when I was born, and since I lived with my grandparents until I was three. She was like an older sister in many ways when I was younger. All in all her life wasn’t a happy one, quite the opposite, and I wish with all my Buddhist hopes she gets a better one next time.
Mother and I travelled to the funeral last week and it was completely sad. My 90-year old gran calls me and cries, feeling lonely since my aunt lived nearby and visited her all the time. It breaks my heart that I'm so far away and she gets increasingly confused.
