I haven't even clicked on the chapter yet! I saw the title alone and was compelled to post here because I know something big's about to go down!

The chapter is entitled: The Complete Meidou

Excuse me while I squee. This could be it! This could be the chapter where Sesshomaru masters the Meidou!

Ok, now off to read. Will edit post later with more substantial thoughts/spoilers. Carry on for now.

Edit:

Okay, I'm back, and I finished the chapter.

Okay, so Sesshomaru didn't master the Meidou yet, but we did get to see a completed Meidou, and this chapter was no less exciting!

So many good things about this one. Let's see...

1) I laughed when Sesshomaru silenced Jaken, and Jaken said, "I didn't say anything," and then Rin went, "Why do you always tell that lie?" XD So cute.

2) Huzzah for Kagome saying what we've been waiting a long time to hear. "I sense a Shikon shard! It's Kohaku-kun!" This gives me hope that the two groups will finally meet up. Kagome is supposed to be protecting Kohaku's "light". The interesting thing will be seeing if he goes with her, or stays with Sesshomaru. And I am looking forward to the brother-sister reunion. (Or, dare I wish, Kohaku wants to stay with Sesshomaru, but Kagome must be there to purify the jewel, so the two groups become one? Yeah, I know that's not gonna happen, but a girl can dream. I'd just like to see how Inuyasha and Sesshomaru would deal with each other if they were forced to team up for a while. There's a comedy goldmine there.)

3) I liked that Sango's ordeal wasn't glossed over or forgotten this chapter, and something interesting will definitely happen when she tries to use Hiraikotsu again. According to the old demon, it's not back to normal.

4) Poor Jaken. He tries to warn Sesshomaru that it could be a trap, but Sesshomaru doesn't care. Of course he knows it might be a trap, but he's willing to risk it. However, notice the way he face is drawn in this exchange. He doesn't seem quite so confident or menacing as usual. He knows he's getting them into something dangerous, and he won't be able to revive his friends if the worst happens to them.

5) Poor Jaken X 2! The enemy destroys the bridge. Sesshomaru can fly, Rin is safe on Ah-Un, Kohaku grabs onto Ah-Un too, but Jaken, of course, falls down! This panel made me go 'No, Jaken!' o.o;

And then of course, RT waits several panels before showing us Jaken's okay. I think it's cute that Kohaku's the one who saved him, throwing his weapon line out to him. And Rin asks if he's okay. Sort of sweet.

6) Okay, we get our first close-up of this new enemy, Shishinki. I have to say I love his character design. He's got that Phantom of the Opera half-masked thing going on. He seems like a real opponent, memorable looks. Not like the spaghetti monster of weeks back. He sort of reminds me of Bankotsu in a way; not in looks, but in presense.

7) Shishinki reveals he fought against Tenseiga before. Sesshomaru goes, "What?" and we go, "OMG NO WAY!!! SQUEE!"

So Shishinki fought against the Inu no Taisho. Is Shishinki to Sesshomaru what Ryokotsusei was to Inuyasha?

I also like the fact that Sesshomaru's father is being brought up relatively soon after we learned about his mother. We're finally learning a bit about their past.

8) Jaken once again gets one of the best lines. "Damn you, pretending to be young!" XD I almost got the feeling Jaken wanted to look young too. Hee.

9) Shishinki has a cool looking weapon, with a crescent moon blade on each end. Neat.

10) Shishinki throws a complete Meidou at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru has a big WTF look on his face. I love it.

11) Again, Jaken with the funny lines. He turns the Meidou thing into a pissing contest. "It isn't as big as Sesshomaru-sama's though." XD Kohaku gives a less kiss-ass summation: "However, it's a complete Meidou."

12) Shishinki drops a bomb of a revelation: "In the beginning, Meidou zangetsuha was my technique." Oh snap! (This villain just becomes cooler and cooler. Geezus, I can hear the backstory fanfics being written all over the net now.)

13) Shishinki takes off his Phantom of the Opera mask. Holy hell, half his face is missing! The Inu no Taisho lopped it off and stole the Meidou zangetsuha.

14) We end on Sesshomaru with a sour look on his face. He knows this thing is serious.

So, to sum up, total exciting chapter. Can't wait to see the rest of the battle unfold. Hopefully it will end with Sesshomaru mastering Tenseiga, and a reunion of the Sess-tachi with the Inu-tachi. Just let Rin, Kohaku, and Jaken make it out alive. Ok, thnx, bye.
