Oh you do, do you? *grins* My anime club watched it during my freshman year of college -- I always really loved the aesthetic, and the dub was surprisingly strong, I thought. (And of course I crushed on Kanbei.)

God, Kanbei, Kanbei. I kept telling the S.O., "I'M NOT READY TO WATCH THE ENDING I'M NOT READY FOR QUI-GON TO DIE DAMMIT." I am now going back and watching it with the dub, as, yes, it does seem a strong dub (though I actually like Kanbe's voice the least out of all of 'em in the dub, sigh!).

Yeah, I know what you mean. He sort of has a giant DOOMED sign hanging over him from the start, but still. D: (Agreed, though I'm rather fond of Kikuchiyo and Kyozo.)

I really like just about everyone in the dub! Kikuchiyo (he will always be Nunky to me) sounds sort of like The Tick, which works. I prefer Junior voiced by a female as he was in the original but they've managed to find a young male voice for him that isn't bad. I also love the voices for Baron Harkonnen and Feyd-Rautha. And as soon as I heard Rikichi's I went, "Wait wait wait, Rikichi should not be that hot." (But I like it. ^_^ )

Ooooh, gotta watch it then. I liked Kurosawa's original a lot XD

This is fun. It's set in the future, and expanded, and a lot of roles (like the peasant girl) are expanded too, and I keep thinking that Toshiro Mifune would have enjoyed seeing his character as a cyborg. ^_^
